Huepar 621CG laser level review

Professional green laser level Huepar 621CG, projecting a horizontal plane at 360 degrees, a vertical plane with a sweep of more than 180 degrees and a laser plumb line.

This model combines excellent build quality with great functionality, and all this at a pleasant price.

Housing

If we compare it with the similar Firecore F190R laser level, the Huepar 621CG level has a more thoughtful housing construction. First of all, this affects the sweep of the vertical line, and for a more convenient adjustment of accuracy, so you can disassemble the housing leaving the device in working condition.

The photo shows that the vertical plane aperture of the Huepar 621CG laser level is made at a large angle, unlike the Firecore.

Thanks to this, the line at the Huepar 621CG laser level goes to the ceiling in a limited space and is thrown behind the device, which cannot be said about the competitor.

Plus, there is a small window at the bottom of the bulging part of the housing, through which the point of the plumb line is projected down.

The structure of the aperture of the vertical laser line.

This makes it possible to project a vertical line almost from the body of the level, so the sweep of the vertical plane turns out to be more than 180 degrees, this is definitely a significant plus.

Build Quality Huepar 621CG

The housing itself is made of good ABS plastic, which is sometimes covered with thick black rubber. In general, the assembly of the case leaves a good impression.

The only thing is, if you look closely, you can see a not quite perfect pairing of the two main parts of the housing, otherwise everything is done perfectly, there are no questions.

The protective tower of the horizontal emitter is made of metal, not plastic. And what is important, it is attached through a rubber gasket around the perimeter.

It is also necessary to say about the rubber gasket in the battery compartment, made in the form of a border of battery cells. Thus, the battery compartment is also protected at the level of the IP54 protection code.

In addition to the battery compartment, two brass bushings are located at the base of the Huepar 621CG laser level. They have two of the most common threads 1/4 and 5/8 inches, for installing the device on various tripods and mounts.

Laser modules

Two types of laser modules are installed in the device: on the horizontal there is a module with a conical prism, on the vertical there is a cylindrical prism.

Good, expensive LD laser emitters are used here, as on the Huepar S04CG models with Bluetooth, and as on the Huepar DT03CG electronic laser level.

In general, laser modules produce clear, bright, and thin laser lines.

Compensator

This model has a standard pendulum compensator on magnetic dampers with a range of 3.5° in all directions. Thus, when installing the device on a surface with an inclination less than or equal to 3.5 degrees, the compensator will automatically compensate for this slope and will stand in the working position for marking with an accuracy of ± 1/9″ at 33Ft.

If the slope of the surface exceeds 3.5 degrees, the laser lines will automatically start flashing rapidly. This is a special alarm that informs that the compensator cannot align, that the permissible slope of the housing has been exceeded. Just put the laser level on a more even surface, and the lines will stop flashing.

After switching on or moving the switched-on device to another place, some time is required for auto-leveling, for the model 621CG this time is about 4 seconds

Laser Level Control

Let’s start with the toggle switch, it has two positions:

Toggle switch for switching on the Huepar 621CG laser level.
  • “closed lock” – in this position, the device is switched off and the pendulum is locked for further transportation. Also, in this position of the toggle switch, the TILT function is activated (working under an inclination with a blocked compensator). To turn on, hold down the “Laser” button for 3 seconds, after which all the planes will light up. With the same button, you can switch the planes separately.
  • “open lock” – in this position, the compensator opens and switches to the automatic alignment mode. At the same time, both planes light up immediately.
A control panel with two buttons.

The second button “with arrows” turns on the mode of operation with the receiver. This mode is used when marking on the street in clear weather. The receiver is purchased separately.

There are two indicators on the keyboard. Above the “Laser” button, the indicator lights up red if the TILT function is enabled. At the second button, the indicator also lights up red if the receiver operation mode is enabled.

The thickness of the laser line at different distances

The Huepar 621CG laser level has excellent laser modules with high-quality LD emitters, so the line thickness at different distances is minimal.

At one meter, the line thickness was 1.2 mm

The thickness of the laser line at a distance of 1 meter.

At 5 meters, this indicator was only 1 mm.

The thickness of the laser line at a distance of 5 meter.

And at 10 meters, the line thickness was only 2 millimeters, this is an excellent result! And this is true, you can see for yourself if you look at other tests in the reviews of laser levels.

Possibility of mounting on various tripods

As I said earlier, the Huepar 621CG has two threads at once, so there will be no difficulties when installing on peripheral equipment.

Also included with the device is a powerful magnetic mount. Which, in addition to everything else, can be fixed on screws or straps. For example, on a plastic pipe, which can not be magnetized or screwed.

The quality of manufacturing of the magnetic mount is also at the highest level.

In general, the Huepar 621CG laser level is an excellent option for everyday work. In the same price category, as a comparison, I recommend paying attention to another model of the Huepar 902CG laser level. It also has two planes: vertical and horizontal, but both planes are 360 degrees.

Pros and cons

inexpensive, thin bright green lines, 360-degree horizon, large vertical sweep, operation mode with a blocked compensator, operation mode with a receiver, separate switching of planes, good assembly, two threads for mounting, a magnetic bracket included, high-quality laser modules.

Please tell me I’m new to this topic. What is the laser level used for? Do I really need it or can I do with a bubble level?

You can do without bubble, of course, but it’s all about convenience, speed, greater clarity, and accuracy. Imagine that you attach the profile to the wall or to the ceiling and you still need to hold a bubble level in your hands – this is not convenient. With the laser level, your hands are always free.

Or mark the floor level along the perimeter – here you will crawl on your knees for a long time with a bubble level, and plus, when you make a circle, the primary line may not converge with the last one and you will have to redo everything. This level, when turned on, will immediately show a visible thin laser line around the perimeter, as if you outlined it with a pencil-quickly, accurately, conveniently. You can list situations for a very long time.
