Review laser level Huepar FL360R

Housing

The case design is one of the most interesting aspects of this model. Namely, placing the horizontal aperture at the bottom, and not as usual at the top.

Thanks to this design of the case, the 360-degree horizon can be projected literally close to the floor.

Again, due to its compact size, the distance to the ceiling is also small. About 8.6 centimeters. Therefore, installers of all kinds of ceilings – the HUEPAR FL360R laser level will also be interesting, both technically and at a cost.

The case is completely made of ABS plastic. And it has only small inserts of dense rubber. Which is very similar to the black soft touch plastic.

For the build quality of the case, you can put a “solid four”. There are no special complaints. But I can’t put a “five” either. Something’s holding you back. Although what exactly is unclear.

The battery compartment holds three AA batteries. It is made very carefully. But its lid has a rather flimsy plastic latch.

Compensator

The unusual location of the horizontal plane could not but affect the design of the compensator. But in General, it is still the same pendulum compensator on magnetic dampers.

The stated speed of setting the pendulum to its original position is ≤ 4 seconds. This characteristic is not entirely true. This sign should at least be changed in the other direction ≥ 4. Since I could not detect the installation in less than 5 seconds.

This fact should not be attributed to the disadvantages. Since the newly established indicator is also quite good.

When the compensator exceeds the permissible tilt limits of ± 3°, a visual alarm is automatically triggered. In other words, the laser lines start flashing at a frequency of about 2 times per second.

There is no audible alarm. A visual alert is enough to understand that the level is tilted more than 3 degrees.

The compensator locking system is implemented quite well. The pendulum is fixed without any obvious backlash.

How to control the laser level

The HUEPAR FL360R laser level is activated by a toggle switch. Which also turns off the device and blocks the pendulum for further carrying.

When turned on, both planes light up at once. But with the button on top, you can switch planes separately. This button no longer carries any meaning.

For additional information about the state of charge of the batteries, an led indicator is displayed next to the button.

Functionality Huepar FL360R

The Huepar FL360R laser level is literally devoid of additional, but at the same time such necessary functions as “tilt mode” and “receiver mode”.

The absence of the second mode can still be accepted, as there is a great way to do without the receiver. But why it was not possible to implement the TILT function is not clear to me, do you agree with me?

Nevertheless, this model still deserves attention, at least for its extraordinary design. Thanks to which you can project a horizontal plane around the entire perimeter at a distance of only 7 mm from the floor.

With such a small distance, inspecting the floor surface can reveal minor bumps-quickly and clearly, you will agree that this is very convenient.

The square shape of the enclosure and support platform is also great for mounting and projecting a vertical plane along a wall. And also at a short distance of only 3.5 cm. This is certainly more than the classic 3D laser levels, such as Firecore F93T-XG, but still not bad.

In General, despite the lack of some features, the Huepar FL360R laser level is a very interesting option to purchase.

The thickness of the laser line at different distances

I must say, this is the strength of this laser level. And at its stated working distance of 10 meters, and in diameter all 20, it draws very thin and bright lines for a red laser.

Of course, the distance of ten meters is not strictly limited and it all depends on the degree of illumination. That is, in a very dark room, the lines will be visible at 100 meters. And in highly lit or on the street, you can not see anything at 3 meters.

However, let’s look at several segments of 1, 3, 5, and 15 meters.

So, for 1 meter, the thickness of both the vertical and horizontal lines was slightly less than 2 mm.

It is not by chance that I separate the vertical and the horizon, since there is a conical prism on the horizon, and a cylindrical prism on the vertical. And it makes perfect sense that the result might be different, doesn’t it?

The thinnest line is formed within 3 meters. And again on both planes.

The line thickness is only 1 mm! Excellent result.

At 5 meters, the thickness began to differ slightly. The horizontal line is less than 2 mm, and the vertical line is just over 1 mm. The differences are not noticeable and are only a fraction of millimeters.

And at a distance of 15 meters, the lines were pleasantly surprised. Thickness less than 5 mm with good visibility. And all this in spite of the different prisms.

The possibility of mounting on different tripods

A 1/4″ brass thread is neatly embedded in the lower support platform. For mounting on a photo/video tripod or rod with the same thread of the fixing screw.

You may not need to purchase an additional tripod or barbell. Since the device comes with a good magnetic bracket. Which covers a good half of the possibilities of installing the level at the desired location or height.

In addition to rare-earth neodymium magnets, the bracket is fixed on self-tapping screws, which is especially convenient in wooden housing construction.

Dimensions of the entire set

As can be seen from the characteristics, the HUEPAR FL360R laser level is a very compact and lightweight device. Its dimensions do not exceed 10 cm. To be more precise: width 70mm, length 67mm, height 93mm. And the weight is only 280 grams.

The entire set fits in a small bag, measuring 12 by 13 centimeters.
